From what I read on the net there are *plenty* of people out there who have lots of problems getting the environment working. This I can admit, is part of the fun. It is fine messing about like this if you have nothing better to do with your time, but being as how I value my time, I would only have to spend a week messing about and getting nowhere to make it worthwhile purchasing SCO/Unixware. Assuming you are running legit copies of informix, you have probably already spent more money than the cost of Unixware on informix products. It just seems crazy to then go looking to run these items on unsupported platforms. My recommendation of Unixware was based on this fact. As far as I am aware Unixware is a supported platform. I look forward to being corrected on this one. I will quite happily go out and get my *FREE* unix and my couple of thousand quids worth of informix and try to run them together!
