I'm going through the same stuff on an SGI Origin 2000. I think the release you need is IUS 9.12.UC2 which, although listed as a 6.2 release, was built with the new 23-bit library format (N32) that you'll probably need. I got it today (finally) after library incompatibility problems for a week or so. The files show as N32, mips3 files. Should be ok for you.
