Hi, im trying to install the Client SDK 2.50TC2 on my computer, which runs on a German Win98SE version. I can install the SDK (install complete!). When I try to add an ODBC-Connection with the ODBC-Admin32, and connect to a IDS 9.21 running on a (german) Win-NT 4.0 Server, with DB_local = en_US.CP1252, it results in an Error -23101 Unable to load local categories or "Unable to find the translation DLL - Install the Globobals" has anyone else had this problem? How can I solve it? What else do I need to install? Arne
When I've had this problem before, its had something to do with the PATH variable on the machine. With WINNT, we had to make sure we had admin rights when installing, so the PATH variable could be changed. As for Windows98, you shouldn't really have this problem. Another way I used to get around this is hard code the path to the translation DLL in the ODBC source setup. In the "Environment tab, click on the "?" and then click on the "Translation library" field. You will see that by default it should point to $INFORMIXDIR/bin/ig04304.dll. This is obviously a bug within their help file, because that file does not exist, it actually should read $INFORMIXDIR/bin/igo4304.dll (an o not a zero!!) Do not type $INFORMIXDIR in the box, actually type the full path i.e. C:\\INFORMIX\\bin .... Hope this helps... Hi, I had that problem and it was my PATH that was too long.
