Modify dbservername on a online informix 11.70 ser
Hello I need to change dbservername and dbserveralian in a online informix. Is there some issues documented? Is there anything in the rootdbs about dbservername? I have been thinking about to follow this stages: Shutdown database Modify environment variables Modify onconfig and sqlhost Start database Test connectivity Regards --e89a8ff247ef282bc804d62c8730
No issues I can think off... Depending on your backup tool you may have to do some work if you need to restore a previous backup. Yes, those look basically correct. I just did the same in version 9.21 of = informix. Yes out dated, but worked. Take a good backup soon afterwards. You have the correct set and sequence of stages. The only other thing I can think of would be if you need/want to change the server number in the ONCONFIG file also. Don't forget that you may have to change sqlhosts files, ODBC connection information, and for Windows clients setnet32 and system DBMS settings on each client machine (if you are using server groups and the groups are changing you may also have to edit the windows registry entries for those group names).
