Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Steven Black (IDS 11.50.FC6W2, CSDK 3.50, Solaris) asked whether SQL statements can run in parallel in one ESQL/C program and whether a UDR is needed. John Miller III advised a POSIX-threaded ESQL program with one connection per thread. Sathyanesh agreed, noting only one connection is active per thread. Steve planned to write thread routines.

Is it possible to execute SQL statements in parallel within a single ESQL/C
program.
Is UDR required for this purpose?
Thanks,
Steve
You can write a posix threaded esql program
with multiple connection each executing a sql statement/transaction.

Hi Steve,
You may execute each ESQL/C statements on separate threads.
FYI:
Though ESQL/C has multi threading support
At any given time only one connection will be active per thread
(the remaining connection on that thread will go in dement state)

Thank you John & Sathyanesh for the quick responses.
I will take a look at the writing the esql/c thread routines.

Steve
