Multithreaded software with ESQL/C 7.10.UC3

Informix Gurus, We are trying to write multi threaded software using Online 7.1 and ESQL/C 7.10.UC3, on an IBM RS6000 AIX 4.1.1. The program seems to hang arbitrarily once threads are created. Is Online 7.1 and ESQL/C 7.1 thread safe? Are there any other libraries we need to link with, for multi threaded development? Any and all responses on this matter appreciated. Thanx, Raj.
