Newera and the Win32 API

Hi, We are using Newera 3.11 on NT4 and are using the Win32 API to produce new controls such as listview and treeview. We have run into a problem that has stopped us for days involving focus control between Newera controls (eg ixTextBox) and the new API based controls. Newera controls do not recognise a focus out when you focus into the windows API instantiated control. Of course, the opposite is also true for the focus in to a Newera control because focus never left the Newera control !!! The API control was created using the createwindowex function. Is there another message that we should send to cause Newera controls to recognise that focus has changed to one of our new API based controls ?
