Hi, Using isql and dbaccess you can not access databases. I suppose 4gl is also giving you the same problem or using 4gl it is working? If 4gl is giving you the same prob, then may be application tools can not attach to shared memmory address where engine is loaded. I think you may need to change SHMBASE in tbconfig file. You can check the value for SHMBASE from $INFORMIXDIR/release directory, engine notes. Generally we do not touch this paramater but, again depending on release notes you may have to change this if and only if it is required. Sometimes (I know in V7.xx you can define environment variable for SHMBASE) But am not sure for v5.xx. You can ask Informix and change this address and try the same thing.
