Please bear with this question, our Informix jocks have left our organization... We are using Informix On-Line and have started to have some permission problems when connecting to databases and selecting from them: Configuration: On-Line 4.00 running on RS/6000, AIX3.2.5 Application written with ESQL/C, running on RS/6000, AIX3.2.5 We can connect to a database when we start the application as the 'informix' user or, as superuser, we can connect to databases which we have granted connect permissions to 'public'. All other users are denied connect permission, no matter what privileges are granted on the database. Selection privileges on tables are also limited to the 'informix' user and granting all table level privileges to 'public' again, only allows the superuser to select data from tables. To make a long story short, users other than 'informix' or 'root' cannot connect to (hence, cannot access tables), no matter what privileges we grant on the databases. We did not have this problem a month ago, and are wondering if some informix file permission has been changed, but we can't pinpoint which one. Changing the permissions to 777 on the Dbspaces did not help... Comments, suggestions, hints, jokes will be greatly appreciated. -- Anna M. Litch litch@interaccess.com
