Piped-ISAM

Piped-ISAM allows you to perform the following tasks: - Protect the database from being corrupted due to bad calls to the shared memory. - Create a front-end/back-endd separation sp that you can operate over a network with your application on one machine and the database on another machine. ==================================================================== I thought that this was great, here I'm having problems with my database getting corrupted, and here's a solution. I also wondered why it took so long to find out such a thing existed. I look in the proper directories, and I can't find any Piped-ISAM libraries like the manual says there are. I call Informix to ask them about Piped-ISAM, and after a few minutes on hold, the tech support person tells me that Piped-ISAM does not exist and should have been removed from the manual. Oh well. There goes the easy solution to my file corruption problems. Does anyone know anything about Piped-ISAM?
