[...] Informix support was quite helpful and finally provided us with an update to OnLine 5.01.UD1 for the UnixWare/SVR4.2 platform. We are still waiting for an update release for the Olivetti MP box (no date known yet). We can now confirm that a) this is a bug present in OnLine 5.00 (at least the ports mentioned above - probably all ports) b) this bug is fixed in INFORMIX-OnLine 5.01.UD1 PRODUCT RELEASE. It may or may not be related to B11497 which is fixed in 5.01.UD1. B11497: OPERATIONS MAY BE APPLIED TO WRONG TABLE IF DROPPED AND RECREATED [...] Less severe symptoms such as seemingly unrelated errors may also occur such as consistency check failures logged in the OnLine message log. [...] Please note that this bug will destroy arbitrary contents of your database. So if you are using ANSI mode with OnLine 5.00 I would strongly recommend you to upgrade to 5.01.UD1 or higher.
