Re: Named pipe

We have 500gig database with 40-50 tables. So we have unique combinations as 1) Single table backup thru named pipe to one tape 2) Single table backup thru named pipe to mulitple tapes (table bigger than one tape capacity) and 3) Multiple talbes on multiple tapes ! Any suggestions on this? We want to write mulitple tables to multiples tapes. One tape cann't be dedicated to one table. TIA Mukund "Art S. As to how to find the table on tape, how about a separate file on the tape for each table. Then have the SP insert a record listing the session id (say start date/time) and order number for each table into a tracking table. Last thing the SP would do is output the current session's tracking table records to disk for safety. Art S. Kagel
