Informix OnLine 7.2 for Windows NT Problems...

I am working on setting up an Informix OnLine database server on Windows NT, and whilst I have FINALLY figured out how to let me connect to it through a C program with embedded SQL (the install failed to set a few things...), I cannot connect if I run this program from another system. I am trying to run my test program, which is sitting in a directory on the NT machine, by bringing up that directory on my Win95 computer back in my office. The program is designed to inform me of any errors it encounters whilst it is running, so that I know the problem -- whenever I run it from my computer, each command informs me that it cannot find the "turbo" service in "/etc/services" (when will they realise that I'm not running Unix, but rather WinNT, and write the documentation that way?). Upon a lot of digging around, I find that in my \\WinNT\\System32\\Devices\\etc\\ directory, there is a file called SERVICES. Turbo is present, and is a port # and a protocol type (tcp/ip, which it should be for my setup). Why can't my 95 machine find this on the NT machine when I run the program / how do I make this thing work? Also -- one more quick one. Is: EXEC SQL PREPARE proc1 FROM "CREATE PROCEDURE <name> () <stuff here> "; EXEC SQL EXECUTE proc1; the correct way to create and run a procedure using embedded SQL? Thanks, Steve DeLong katt@vt.edu
