Security question about INFORMIX-OnLine 7.12.UC1 on Solaris 2.5.1

Hi! I have INFORMIX-OnLine Version 7.12.UC1 running on Solaris 2.5.1 machine with a Webserver installed on it. The only hosts that connect to the database are the machine itself (webserver) and my PC (when I am performing some maintaince tasks). My major consern is DB security: with the current configuration everyone from the internet is able to connect to the DB (assuming he knows port number, username, password, etc...) So the question is: how can I configure informix to accept connections only from two hosts? I have tried to "play" with /etc/hosts.equiv file, but it seems to me that infromix just ignores it: even putting '-*' didn't affect the server. Please email ANY suggestions to sergei@lvov.weizmann.ac.il, since I am kinda desparate to find a solution. Thanks in advance, Sergei -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/ Now offering spam-free web-based newsreading
