I had a drastic decrease in performance over the weekend... Things that
used to take 2 minutes are now taking 10 to 15.
dev 150% onstat -g spi
INFORMIX-Universal Server Version 9.12.UC2 -- On-Line -- Up 10:56:23
-- 124240 Kbytes
Spin locks with waits:
Num Waits Num Loops Avg Loop/Wait Name
449 985616 2195.14 vproc vp_lock, id = 1
1 500 500.00 vproc vp_lock, id = 3
1 500 500.00 tcb lock, tid = 5
Can someone tell me if that first entry is a problem... Can someone
explain what this means also? Whats a vp_lock? Why does the list in this
output from onstat change very often?
tid name rstcb flags curstk status
427 sqlexec 31c5c2ec Y--P--- 1024 31c5c2ec cond wait(netnorm)
I know that cond wait(netnorm) is fairly normnal, but I am seeing this
condition for many minutes each session.
Something changed over the weekend, and I am trying to identify what it
is, nothing in the config has been touched except that I changed the
checkpoint interval from 50 minutes to 10 minutes (could this have
caused the problem?)
Queries seem to run instantly from dbaccess, and yet wait for several
minutes from the webdriver, and from our crontab scripts...
