Products that run in compatibility mode take a severe performance hit and often don't perform any better than the RISC version on the faster Itanium hardware -- thereby negating any value of moving. The only migration path from a parisc env to a itanium is via dbexport/dbimport. Even if both the parisc and itanium are running 9.40 FC5. Thanks sending to informix-list
