My my, such language! And Joe, you're a celebrity, held to a higher standard!
We're going to have to start putting ratings on these postings...
tsk tsk...
:-)
I looked in the docs, and they are quite confusing. To make things simple,
here's what my NT system says for what I'm guessing is the English version:
DBLANG=EN_US.CP1252
DB_LOCALE=EN_US.8859-1
CLIENT_LOCALE=EN_US.CP1252
I would have never guessed this from reading the "documentation" for
I-connect or CLI or I-net or whatever it's called, I can't keep up with it.
It's shit no matter what you call it. A buffalo chip by any other name...
And I pitty the legions of users out there who do not have the courage to
ask, thinking they might be asking a stupid question.
THE INFORMIX NETWORKING PRODUCTS AND DOCUMENTATION SUCK.
IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH INFORMIX NETWORKING IT'S OK
EVERYBODY DOES. CONTINUE TO POST YOUR PROBLEMS HERE.
EMAIL INFORMIX AND LET THEM KNOW ABOUT YOUR PROBLEM.
EVEN IF YOU SET IT UP CORRECTLY IT CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS
AND MAY NOT WORK CORRECTLY.
Now I feel better...
:-)
