dup-spaces.sh - First revision in some years
Posted in 2006
Hi Family.
I have been using my script dup-spaces.sh for some years (not too
often, of course) and it has worked just fine through release 9.4 of
IDS.
For those unfamiliar with this script (overwhelming majority, I suspect
:-) its purpose is to produce the onspaces commands to completely
replicate your current IDS configuration, even maintaining the same
order of chunk creation.
With the advent of alternate page sizes, a new feature of IDS 10,
(gotta keep up with the cool featured of big-O ;-) some of my basic
assumptions went out the window and I had to accomodate the new option,
to be able to recreate the onspaces command with the -k option. The -k
option specified how many K the page is to be. For example:
onspaces -c -d bigpagespace -k16 -p ... -o ... -s ...will create a dbspaces whose page size is 16K. And, of course, you
need to specify a buffer pool (with the new BUFFERS parameter in
$ONCONFIG) of the same page size.
OK, enough tutorial: The new version is a WinZipped file named
dup-spaces.zip and I just uploaded it to the IIUG software archives.
You may start replicating now.
