Also, Does any one have a }C function to parse a prepare string and deal with the single quotes in a }single quoted string? } }I have written a function to directly insert and update from motif widgets }using dynamic prepares, but need to deal with these little exceptions. Any }help would be appreciated. You'll need to use an INSERT/UPDATE with a question mark where you'd want the longer string to go. Then, when executing the INSERT/UPDATE, you'd specify the actual string in a USING clause (FROM clause if the statement is a PUT for an insert cursor). Or you'd sort out a descriptor for a USING DESCRIPTOR clause. The 256-byte limitation is solely on literal strings; you can insert variable strings of up to 32767 bytes with USING clauses or descriptors.
