If your tape drive correctly detects EOT, then you can use TAPESIZE set to
zero (0) and ontape will respond to the end-of-tape response. However, if
the drive does not correctly detect EOT then the archive will fail when it
hits end of tape and receives an IO error instead. In that case, you will
have to set TAPESIZE to something less than the actual capacity of the tape
to avoid the error.

LTO capacity is 400 - 800GB. The tapes should have the capacity on the
cartridge.

Usually the subtype of the LTO is mentioned on the tape, sometimes the sizes
too.
LTO sizes are listed here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LTO_tapes
