The concept is to have a program access the database and respond to the queries, that way you have one connection to the database handling the queries. It also allows for persistance of a session. Informix had a 4GL *webkit* available from their web site. (Mark Jeske's program?) Others include Net Fusion, Apple/NeXT's Web Objects (The best), Symantec's products (BUT THEY ARE SPAMMERS SO BOYCOTT THEM), and the list goes on.... But with my altzhimers, I forget.
