sqlexec process

We are having problems when running an informix application. The user is running a report and presses the delete key which is leaving an sqlexec process running with a process id of 1. Has anyone experienced a problem with sqlexec processes not being killed when the 4GL application is cancelled. Thanks, Jean Gidcumb Programmer/Analyst
