php3.07 + apache1.3.6 and informix SE on linux
Posted in 1999
Hi :)
I have installed php, apache and informix SE on my linux machine. Php has been
installed as an apache module, and with informix support.
When I do a <? echo phpinfo(); ?> it shows the DBPATH environment variable as
DBPATH /root/db
So, Apache runs the httpd daemon as nobody but somehow it exports the "root"s
DBPATH environment variable and when my php script tries to reach an informix
database it just looks at DBPATH which shows a wrong direction and informix
gives -329 error.
I've created informix.rc file in $INFORMIXDIR/etc and added DBPATH to show to
the place where I store the database I want to reach by php. I thought I
should restart something but informix is restarted whenever you start
dbaccess, it does not have a standalone daemon. But how is it started in the
case of a php script trying to reach a database on the localhost? might
sqlexecd be responsible with that? but when i try sqlexecd i get this error:
# ./sqlexecd local_se
# 1999-04-19 13:15:36.137069 daemon err = -25592: Communications
service not supported by network driver.
(local_se is my database server)
so, if somehow I was able to run sqlexecd, would it read the DBPATH variable
in informix.rc and would my php script be able to find the database it was
looking for?
btw, this is written in my /etc/services:
sqlexecd 1520/tcp
thanks
ersin
