Recovery time with Online 5.x ??

Earlier this evening, one of our programmers suffered a rather spectacular exception while testing a new application. Needless to say, it dumped core and aborted the engine. I started it up again with tbmonitor, and it recovered, BUT it stayed in 'Recovering, please wait {dot dot dot}' mode for almost four hours. I thought this was somewhat unusual, since a level-0 archive was done about 12 hours before. What is the usual recovery time when starting after a dirty halt of the engine ?? Thanks Good day JSW
