Hi folks, I got a real problem connecting SQL to Informix using OLEDB. No problem with 32 bit system. Everything is fine. But, when I try to do it in 64 bits system, it doesn't work. It seems like there's TWO places where llibrary files are located. C:\\\\WINDOWS\\\\SysWOW64\\\\ C:\\\\WINDOWS\\\\system32\\\\ Some how, Informix client drivers are installed in one place but there's a lot of files that are located in other, like c:\\\\program files\\\\(x86)\\\\ Does anybody here saw it before ? Thanks a lot, André Luiz _________________________________________________________________ Instale a Barra de Ferramentas com Desktop Search e ganhe EMOTICONS para o Messenger! What files do you see in those directories with respect to OLEDB (as compare to WIN32)? Which(..WOW64 or system32) "regsvr32" are you using to register OLEDB? Also, if you could explain little bit about what doesn't work? What version of CSDK are you using? -Shesh "André Luiz Rufino" <andre_rufino@msn.com> Sent by: ids-bounces@iiug.org 16/09/2008 18:14 Please respond to ids@iiug.org To ids@iiug.org cc Subject SQL Connection (OLEDB) [13389] Hi folks, I got a real problem connecting SQL to Informix using OLEDB. Ok, We have the follow environment: Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition 64 Bits SQL Server 2005 64 Bits CSDK 3.5 FC2 to Windows The problem is: Using SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) to Import or Export data from Informix, the system get an error when we choose "IBM Informix oledb Provider", telling that "ifxoledbc.dll" isn't registered. We used the "regsvr32" on ...\\\\system32 to register the DLL. It's realized with sucess. But this procedure doesn't solve the problem. We tried to register the DLL using "regsvr32" on ...\\\\WOW64, but is impossible, don't work. I tried on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64 Edition SP2 with SQL Server 2008 (I don't have SQL server 2005 in my system) with option called "Import and Export Data (x64)" and I was successfully able to connect to IDS using OLEDB, I didn't get registration error. Infact I did try de-registering and registering also as follows from x64 command prompt, whereas regsvr32.exe is located at c:\\\\WINDOWS\\\\system32 dir. %INFORMIXDIR%\\\\bin> regsvr32 /u ifxoledbc.dll and %INFORMIXDIR%\\\\bin> regsvr32 ifxoledbc.dll Both the above commands were successful. Sometime rebooting Windows helps .. :) If problem persist I would recommend contact IBM technical support team. -Shesh "André Luiz Rufino" <andre_rufino@msn.com> Sent by: ids-bounces@iiug.org 16/09/2008 21:14 Please respond to ids@iiug.org To ids@iiug.org cc Subject RE: SQL Connection (OLEDB) [13392] Ok, We have the follow environment: Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition 64 Bits SQL Server 2005 64 Bits CSDK 3.5 FC2 to Windows The problem is: Using SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) to Import or Export data from Informix, the system get an error when we choose "IBM Informix oledb Provider", telling that "ifxoledbc.dll" isn't registered.
