Update on C.D.I gatherings....
Posted in 1996
Hey guys, Its your roving alcoholic cafine junkie of a programmer with an update to the CDI gathering. Tonight we had a little pre-bash get together. To sum it up, the biggest question: Where is Cheryl H? Second? Where is Tim? (Now I am not going to take that line of topic any further ;-) We did come to concensus. New Era is a dead product. (Sorry Paula 8^() But that's OK Informix, there are some of us who think that Informix should clean the slate and start afresh. We also think that Informix should still enhance the 4GL language. Better support for dynamic allocation of space. We also came to the conclusion that Sybase is dead too but hey, its CDI so I don't think that there were any Sybase fans there. Concensus also says that we, at least those I talked to, are sick of the head hunters who constantly post their ads to this group, over and over again. To those who post: Hey guys, we read your friggen ads. If we were interested in them, we would contact you already. Give it a rest. Besides, if we wanted a job, we would read misc.jobs.offered or misc.contracts.offered, OR we could spend some money on the girl standing across the street... (Whoops, wrong type of job 8^0 ) BTW, I'm sorry guys, The bar tomorrow night is within walking distance. (OK so your hotels were 3.5 km or 2 miles away. Look on the bright side. You burned off some of the calories your going to get from all the great food Chicago has to offer.) I think the most hated person is Fred H. for calling for a 6:45am Meeting for an IIUG sub committee meeting. I will sure hate to be him tomorrow ..... (Hey Fred, you had better buy the coffee ;-) Well its 1:15 am and it's time for me to get some sleep before tomorrow.... -Rantings from Mike BTW, Billy, its good to see that I'm not the only one complaining about the spam and cross postings that don't belong. PS. For those who hate non technical posts, I am sorry. I did this strictly for those who can't make it to the conference and don't want to be left out of the inuendos (sp?) and inside jokes.
