Onpload, Zoned Decimals not picking up sign
Posted in 1998
Hi, We have run into a problem using the High Performance loader and I wanted to see if anyone else had any insight. We are using it the convert EBCDIC data from an IBM mainframe and its doing all the decimal conversion correctly except for one. Platform Sun Solaris 2.6 Informix Online 7.24.UC2 The COBOL definition for the three numeric fields that we are having problems with is: hours S9(3) Zoned Decimal pay_amount S9(6)V99 Zoned Decimal add_amount S9(6)V99 Zoned Decimal However, in the ipload GUI interface, if I use the above specification, it thinks the record length is 133 characters which is wrong and it cannot load the data. The following gets the correct record length of 130 characters and the correct numbers except for the sign (postive or negative). hours 9(3) Zoned Decimal pay_amount 9(6)V99 Zoned Decimal add_amount 9(6)V99 Zoned Decimal We have also tried the following which gets the correct record length but the wrong numbers. hours S99 Zoned Decimal pay_amount S9(5)V99 Zoned Decimal add_amount S99999V99 Zoned Decimal The numbers are 1/10th of what they should be and again, the sign is wrong. We can convert the data to ASCI using dd and have written a program to correctly convert the numbers and signs so we know the data is OK. The iploader is correctly handling all the other decimal and compressed fields we have put at it. Any suggestions would be most helpful.
