Facing issue in IDS while running snmp

Hello We are facing instance halting ( unresponsive ) during snmp running on server. we are also facing slow response from server at the same time. SNMP Version : 5.5.1 IDS Version : IDS11.50W8 OS : SunOS
What Sparc processor class (T or M)? There is no version 11.50W8, it would be something like 11.50.FC9W8 or something like that. Honestly, we're going to need lots more information if anyone is going to have a chance to help. I would recommend that you either call IBM support and see if they can see something or engage a good Informix consultancy to come onsite. Advanced DataTools comes to mind - ;-) or Oninit US or UK, or Xtivia or Kazer or Ardenta or Reagola etc. depending on where in the world you are based. Art Art S. Hello , Required info. OS is Sun Spark T5200 Machine IDS Version IDS 11.50FC8W3.
T class Oracle/Sun machines are a poor choice for running databases. No
database runs well on them, not Informix, not Oracle, not DB2 or Sybase.
The Sparc Niagra processors in them are designed to run Java apps with many
tiny threads that only run for a few thousand cycles before stopping to
wait for other threads to coordinate. Processes like the Informix oninit
tasks which are a single massive OS thread (Informix multithreading is
implemented within the oninit itself the OS and processors don't know about
it at all) perform poorly because in order to make the Java threads run
more efficiently Sun had to design the Niagras with no prefetch queues.
Without prefetch queues complex logic in single threaded tasks cause the
processor to stop and fetch the next decision branch from memory at every
decision point. Compare that to the M-class Sparc processors which IB have
four prefetch queues per core so multiple decision branches are already
loaded into the CPU core when a decision point is reached and evaluated.
Great machine for a web server or application server, not for a database
server.
Your biggest problem may be your hardware!
