J. Cline II] I sympathize with both posters. I would like to see somewhat better typing and spelling on the net, but I suppose that those of us who complain had better be sure our own postings are (at least mostly) above reproach. I am not complaining about the occasional typing or spelling error; we all make those. Neither am I complaining about our friends in non-English speaking countries. I am greatly impressed by anyone who can post to a technical forum in what is not their native language. But I AM annoyed by the "kewl doods" who inflict their *creative* spelling on us "if u no wat i men". I am also unhappy with the folks who are in such a hurry that they obviously don't proofread their writing before sending it off. They may not be as selfconsciously annoying as the "kewl doods", but a few moments of their time spent proofreading could save hundreds of readers many more moments of pondering "what is that word supposed to be?" I am somewhat sympathetic to the folks who have "hostile" mail and/or newsreader software. However, even some of the worst such software will let you break out to an editor. I encourage folks to spend a little time with their manuals and learn how to use the editing features. Sorry to be quite so verbose off-topic, but if we can't read your posting, how can we even know if it is on-topic! Regards, Alan -- R.
