9.40.UC3 install problems
A clean install of IDS 9.40.UC3 on Solaris 7 failed with a runtime linker error from etc/brand ("ld.so.1 ... relocation error ... symbol __1cG__CrunMdo_exit_code6F_v_ not found"), killing the install script. One poster first suggested UC3 was Solaris 8-only, but the release notes showed it was certified on Solaris 2.7-2.9. The real cause was a missing/outdated Sun C++ shared library: applying Sun patch 106327 (32-bit; 106300 for 64-bit) let the install complete. The poster added a separate, unresolved note that the ETX 1.30.UC7 blade crashes the engine on their Solaris 7 build.
