I don't think an Access "number" could handle a DECIMAL (31,5), for :example. It should of course have been currency in Access for decimal types up to 4 digits after the decimal point. That is the max the currency datatype can handle. To read decimal data into a Double in Access which is a binary floating point type gives rounding errors which may be devastating in several types of applications. This is but one small problem with MS Access that is the reason why we don't use it for development, only for add hoc queries and some reporting. This same problem exist in Visual Basic as well, and any user should be very aware of it.
