I am creating the database, and granting 'connect' to public. ->But my users get a 'no select permission error' whenever attempting to work, ->and I am having to resort to granting them dba privileges before being ->permitted to work. I am doing everything that I beleive the ->documentation indicates. Can anyone help? Thanx in advance... -> ->-Mike It sounds like you should do the following: 1. Revoke the user-by-user DBA privileges. 2. For EACH table, grant select to PUBLIC. For each table grant update, insert, delete, etc., as appropriate to individuals who will perform these functions. (Possibly to PUBLIC, but not a good idea in general.) 3. If you are using views, then you must grant permissions at BOTH the table and view level. This might be the source of your problems.
