Ontape to Disk - HP_UX

We are currently running Informix 7.2 on HP_UX 10.01. We are using ontape as our archive/backup utility. We are looking into writing our archives/ backups to disk and then using HP's Omniback product to write the archive/backup to tape. This will help us to manage our tapes within a DLT library. The problem we are facing is the 2GB limit on file systems. Does anyone have any experience using ontape to disk? We are interested in scripting the archive/backup jobs to make the process unattended. Any information would be GREATLY appreciated. Melissa Schornheuser mgschornheuser@farmland.com
