Re: Local printing from ACE on SCO UNIX

Kate, Some of our users have dumb terminals with dot-matrix slave printers attached. They use the following: setenv DBPRINT eprint (This can be done in the .login file on Unix (Sun)) I have 1 or 2 ACE reports which go to a specific printer. These have the line: report to pipe "vpr" in the "output" section of the report, where "vpr" is a program which converts ascii files to postscript and then sends them to a network printer. Hope this helps, Richard. ----------------------------------------------------------------- | _ /\\ | Richard Thomas | | \\ 0_ | r.thomas@csl.gov.uk | | \\ / | | | oo/ | "20 Regal and a four-pack, | | / \\ | I guess I'm set for the night" | | \\_/ | - "TV Tan" The Wildhearts | ----------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Begin Included Message ----- From ilist@rmy.emory.edu Tue Jul 11 13:44:42 1995 From: kcj@netcom.com (Kate Juliff) Subject: Local printing from ACE on SCO UNIX Date: Tue, 11 Jul 1995 11:01:53 GMT To: informix-list@rmy.emory.edu X-Informix-List-To: rt10hp@csl.gov.uk X-Informix-List-Id: <news.15319> Can anyone tell me how I can set up my local printer from ISQL. I do not want to print to a system printer but can see how to do this. I am currently printing ACE reports to a file for later printing direct from SCO but this is not ideal.
