Re: ODBC + IIS4 + INFORMIX = NONO *please read*

Hi Matt. YIKES! I'm glad I don't have to go through what you're going through. We have IIS4 + ODS7.23 + CLI and we've used CLI to set up an ODBC Data Connection from within Visual Interdev. Haven't done anything with it yet (as far as actual web pages), but the data connection seems to be working OK. I also use (quite successfully I might add) used CLI as an ODBC driver to do "backdoor" work to our IFMX DB through MS Access. (Fun stuff =-) That's been working for quite a while. However, your memory leak scares me. I'll keep an eye out and see if that happens over here. Can't really offer you any solutions, just wanted to extend a pat on the back from somebody's who's trying to do similar things. The part that makes me laugh the most (not harmful, but annoying) is how many times and in how many different places I have to run that frickin SetNet32 program!! Run it here, run it there, server, client, whoops, edit those registry keys, run it again! I was quite upset, also, to find that CLI takes the liberty (what a nice piece of software) to downgrade my ODBC components for me. I was all the way up at 3.5 after installing MDAC (Data Access Components) and got blown to 2.0. I was a little baffled until I found out what it was. Hang in there!
