IDS: Portmapper Hung On Startup

Ever since I replaced the network card on my NT box, every time Dynamic Server tries to start I get the Portmapper service failing with the message in Event Viewer "The Portmapper Service Hung on Startup". I've tried completely reinstalling IDS (including ripping out every reference to Informix, OnLine and ISM from the registry, including all the services) and still the error persists. What could the problem be, or where can I go for some diagnostic information? Do I need to have ISM to just run a very basic IDS system, if not can I uninstall it? I'm on IDS 7.30.TC3 on NT4.0 SP5. -Andy Kent- Bristol, England.
