Well, not *always*. It returns the logical AUTONEXT directive (2018) iff the field was exited by the autonext action. If you exit with the accept key, tab, <CR>, etc. ("navigation keys"), you get the proper key value. The current behavior was intentional, but it is fundamentally incompatible with how it was documented to work. (Documentation clearly states that it's always the last actual keystroke, even in AUTONEXT). So, it's a bug: Bug 11897: FGL_LASTKEY() RETURNS 2018 IN AUTONEXT FIELD IF NOT DIRECTION KEY It's being worked on right now, but I can't estimate when the next tools port for the DECStation might be. >> If anyone knows how to get the real user keystroke, please let me know. I would think that you could use get_fldbuf() to get the field buffer contents, then take buffer[length(buffer)] to get the last data key value... >> By the way, we are running Informix-4gl 4.10 in a DECstation with Ultrix 4.2 Bug 11897 occurs in 4.10.UC1 and .UD1 >> Abilio Tavares da Silva -- Alan Denney aland@informix.com {pyramid|uunet}!infmx!aland "This song is a traditional bluegrass number, in the sense that it's about dead ancestors." - The Austin Lounge Lizards (live, introducing "Grandpa's Hologram")
