Someone from Informix explained something about this not long ago.
June Tong perhaps. You might be able to find it on dejanews or in the
archives at www.iiug.org.
The version row in systables is only changed every time an update of
the internal data format on disk is required. If that is not required
from one version to another this version number may be older than the
real version.
The version from the -V option to all programs is supposed to allways
be correct and should of course allways be the same as on the media.
(If not you may have gotten a wrong version.)
My .snfile doesn't contain a version number at all, just the serial
number.
