It copies data directly from one database table in one to another (different databases / instances / hosts), without going thru intermediate flat files or tape. Multiple tables can be copied in concurrently. I've used this many times successfully. Because there are no flat files, there is no need to worry about file size limits. As many others have already stated, the data should be loaded (copied) into the new tables *before* indexes and constraints are rebuilt. You may need to verify with Mr. Kagel that his utility will work OK from SE4 to SE7 (I'd be very surprised if it doesn't). "dbcopy" is part of Art's utils2_ak package available on the www.iiug.org site. HTH, Paul Mosser sending to informix-list
