You can write a stored procedure to compare these two columns and return a min, e.g. this procedure named "minof", then you can write your sql like "select col1, minof(col2, col3) from tab;" Regards chen ---------- > From: Sackwitz, Antje <Sackwitz@vst.vossloh.de> > To: 'informix-list@iiug.org' > Subject: select minof two columns > Date: Saturday, August 07, 1999 8:54 PM > > Hi, > I'm a newbie with Informix (coming from Oracle world). > Now I have the following situation: > Table tab has col1,col2,col3. > I want something like: select col1, least(col2,col3) from tab; > It is possible to do it under Oracle, > how can I do it with Informix? > Any information is appreciated, > > Antje Sackwitz
