While there are no bottlenecks in the System or I/O, we have a major transaction that is taking over TWICE as long to run in Version 7 as it does in Version 5. The only thing I can think of is that the large number of indexes on some of the tables that help Version 5's performance actually KILL the "inserts" that are being done while under Version 7.
