We are in the process of upgrading form Informix version 4 to 7, that is to say our server software our 4GL and our tools. Our programs are not compiled via the menu , instead we use various set up files that are used to generate a Makefile. When each program links we get a warning message , it doesn't seem to cause any problems so far but we would like an explanation and if possible a solution. Heres the message :- Starting program compilation UX:make: INFO: `FUNCTIONS.ALL' is up to date. UX:make: INFO: `FUNC.tag' is up to date. Compiling function IBenquiry.4gl Linking program IBenquiry /usr2/informix/bin/c4gl \\ `cat PROGS.ALL` \\ `cat .CFILES.ALL` \\ `cat FUNCTIONS.ALL` \\ -lm -o IBenquiry.4ge UX:cc: WARNING: Use -Kthread instead of -lthread when linking with threads library; using -lthread directly may cause incorrect execution behavior. Sorting tags file for IBenquiry Program and forms uptodate By the way we are on Unixware 7.3. I have done a man on CC and found references to the Kthread and lthread but I don't know where to make the change. We have an environment variable set $FLAGS4GL which simply contains -a. I hope someone can help, thanks in advance !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have since found out that the linking is done in the script c4gl as supplied by Informix, I can see the -lthread but I am reluctant to change it to -lkthread until I hear from support, unless anyone can tell me more.
I hav discovered ( since my last post ) that the linking is controlled in c4gl - I will wait until I hear from support before I attempt ( if at all ) to change c4gl.
