Enterprise Replication issue with ignoredel flag
Posted in 2007
Topics: High Availability & Replication
Hi,
I have two servers (both running RHEL4, Informix 10.00.UC3)
I'm trying to get a replication going between the two servers with the
--ignoredel flag set to y and keep getting segmentation faults.
Here's the history:
create table er_test_short (
sample_dt DATETIME YEAR TO FRACTION(3) NOT NULL,
group_id INT,
value1 DECIMAL,
value2 INT,
value3 CHAR(30),
primary key (sample_dt, group_id) CONSTRAINT key_er_test_short
);
create table er_test (
sample_dt DATETIME YEAR TO FRACTION(3) NOT NULL,
group_id INT,
value1 DECIMAL,
value2 INT,
value3 CHAR(30),
primary key (sample_dt, group_id) CONSTRAINT key_er_test
);
cdr define server -c mesappsvr -i 500 -A /usr/informix/ER_ATS_DATA -R
/usr/informix/ER_RIS_DATA/ -I g_mesappsvr
cdr define server -c sirrp60 -i 500 -A /usr/informix/ER_ATS_DATA -R
/usr/informix/ER_RIS_DATA/ -S g_mesappsvr -L -I g_sirrp60
cdr list server shows:
====START cdr list server=====
SERVER ID STATE STATUS QUEUE CONNECTION CHANGED
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
g_mesappsvr 90 Active Local 0
g_sirrp60 160 Active Connected 0 Jul 16 16:04:15
====END cdr list server=====
I can start the replicate as below
cdr define repl -C ignore jwttest_alldata \\
"R jwt@g_mesappsvr:sdev.er_test
<mailto:jwt@g_mesappsvr:sdev.er_test> " "SELECT * FROM er_test" \\
"P jwt@g_sirrp60:sdev.er_test <mailto:jwt@g_sirrp60:sdev.er_test> "
"SELECT * FROM er_test"
but if I try any of the ones below I get a seg fault - (I can't find any
reference in the fixed defects list for later UC releases or Google)
cdr define repl -C ignore -D y jwttest_prunedata \\
"jwt@g_mesappsvr:sdev.er_test_short
<mailto:jwt@g_mesappsvr:sdev.er_test_short> " "R SELECT * FROM
er_test_short" \\
"jwt@g_sirrp60:sdev.er_test_short
<mailto:jwt@g_sirrp60:sdev.er_test_short> " "P SELECT * FROM
er_test_short"
cdr define repl -C ignore -D y jwttest_prunedata \\
"jwt@g_mesappsvr:sdev.er_test_short
<mailto:jwt@g_mesappsvr:sdev.er_test_short> " "SELECT * FROM
er_test_short" \\
"jwt@g_sirrp60:sdev.er_test_short
<mailto:jwt@g_sirrp60:sdev.er_test_short> " "SELECT * FROM
er_test_short"
cdr define repl -C ignore --ignoredel y jwttest_prunedata \\
"jwt@g_mesappsvr:sdev.er_test_short
<mailto:jwt@g_mesappsvr:sdev.er_test_short> " "R SELECT * FROM
er_test_short" \\
"jwt@g_sirrp60:sdev.er_test_short
<mailto:jwt@g_sirrp60:sdev.er_test_short> " "P SELECT * FROM
er_test_short"
cdr define repl -C ignore --ignoredel y jwttest_prunedata \\
"jwt@g_mesappsvr:sdev.er_test_short
<mailto:jwt@g_mesappsvr:sdev.er_test_short> " "SELECT * FROM
er_test_short" \\
"jwt@g_sirrp60:sdev.er_test_short
<mailto:jwt@g_sirrp60:sdev.er_test_short> " "SELECT * FROM
er_test_short"
It seems that any use of the ignoredel flag causes a segmentation fault
the replicate never makes it
====START cdr list repl=====
CURRENTLY DEFINED REPLICATES
-------------------------------
REPLICATE: jwttest_alldata
STATE: Active ON:mesappsvr
CONFLICT: Ignore
FREQUENCY: immediate
QUEUE SIZE: 0
PARTICIPANT: jwt:sdev.er_test

====END cdr list repl=====
It also segfaults when the ignoredel flag is used but set to 'N' - but
is fine if it's left off.
Any pointers / help greatly appreciated.

I just fixed a bug on this (138176). I think that you can define the
replicate as normal and then modify the replicate to set --ignoredel=y

Thanks Madison, I can indeed adjust the settings after establishing the
replicate.
