Talking Heads (head hunters) and killing turbos

Alan, (et al) You have a TV? You can watch things like Star Trek TNG? Our answer to the TV thing was to blow it up, move to Boise, eat a lot of ..... No but seriously, Are we a techie net or are we a bulletin board is what I deem this boils down to. As a techie net there is no need for GENERAL job adverts. On the other hand, as a bulletin board anything goes, and probably the first place I would go to look for a job in my specific 'field of expertise' would be the net dedicated to that field. (I waded through misc.jobs for a while, it's a real pain - too many of them which don't relate to me). (P.S. 'votes' in are 5 against, 8 for, with Naomi not caring - I may be off in my counting slightly because I've been tossing the messages.) ---------- Back to techie stuff. Fellow just walked in fearing for his life because he 'kill'ed an sqlturbo and then got a 'no shared memory' when he tried again. Of course he had crashed the engine - which was not a nice thing to do. Will 6.0 solve this problem? Or is there a solution? Or is this a 'problem' in the sense that it is a recognized danger which should be gaurded against. I suppose we could chmod on kill so that only root/informix could run it, but that doesn't sound very smart either. cheers j. _____________________________________________________________________________ Jack Parker - Contractor | Hewlett Packard, BSMC Boise, Idaho, USA| CALL disclaimer( author, mail, jparker@hpbs2561.boi.hp.com | opinions, trash) (208) 396-5388 (W) (208) 384-1623 (H) | RETURNING flames "> /dev/null" _____________________________________________________________________________ Any opinions expressed herein are my own and not those of my employers. _____________________________________________________________________________
