Yes, though you should theoretically use quotes around the device name.

It isn't. LOAD expects to read all the data from a single file.
UNLOAD expects to write all the data to a single file.
For LOAD, when the single file is complete (eg because the tape ran
out of space), then the load is complete. If there was a partial data
row on the last row of data, you will get an error (probably) and the
load may be rolled back (in a logged database).
Or, for UNLOAD, when the file runs out of space, you get an error in
the UNLOAD command.
