Is it possible to have "ontape -c" run from cron to
continuously backup the logical logs or must it be
run from a "Dedicated Terminal" in order to run???
Thanks,

Try not to post MIME, many cannot easily read it.
Anyway: Yes you can but it is better to have the ALARMPROGRAM ONCONFIG
parameter trigger ontape -a whenever a logfile fills up. See my entry
in the IIUG Software Repository named utils3_ak for a shell script that
just does this (a version of the log_full.sh that Informix delivers but
rewritten to use ontape instead of onbar) and also source for an
executable ALARMPROGRAM that does this and MUCH more.
