Re: Company thought DB2 will be better than Oracle.

Well said Dirk! I too am getting fed up with the disputes between Informix employees like Obnoxio and Oracle employess like Mark. I suggest that those of us with lives to lead should automatically delete these two. But being a little more serious, I believe this newsgroup is intended to help informix users. Can any of the contributors to that thread prove that they were helping any users by their comments. I thought the dispute was between Daniel Morgan, (aka The Last Word), and rkusenet, et al? I vote they take it to email...Anyone else? Anyone? Anyone? p.s. I actually enjoy the comments from Mark and OTC, at least they don't take themselves so seriously and know when to quit! I am known as Agent 009 3/4, although my real name is Peter Gyenes. My super-secret job, given to me by my boss "M&M" at the Skunkworks division, is to actively "disrepec'" SQLServer and Oracle on comp.databases.informix, because that is our cunning strategy for world domination. We have evidence that both Microsoft and Oracle have stockpiled databases of mass destruction, but the UN won't give us a resolution allowing us to export Larry Hussein and Bill Bin Laden to Guantanamo Bay, so we're going to sex up a dossier and use it to convince the corporate market to allow us to invade the comp.databases.oracle.* hierarchy. And we're using the Illuminati and the Freemasons to control the supply of parity bits. Today, Usenet; tomorrow, the world! It has got nothing to do with oil, I promise! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Ahem. Sorry, I think I had too much coffee today. Actually, I *know* I had too much coffee today, I've got the shakes. I think I might have to counteract it with a bottle of Scotch. But I digress... Mark and I don't fight. He makes good points and he takes his licks like a man, and I respect him for that. Actually, maybe I could rephrase that. Doesn't stop me from ribbing him, though. Actually, I could probably rephrase that too. Anyway! Most of the abuse on this thread actually seems to have come from people who seem to have axes to grind that even *I* can't fathom. I also don't know if this thread helped anybody, but if your sole reason for being on Usenet is to help or be helped, you're in a very small minority. Possibly even a minority of one. If you subscribe to the mailing list, you should be able set up a rule to automatically bin my posts, and if you use Usenet, you should be able to set up a killfile. And actually, I wish you would, rather than blaming me for everything that you don't like about Usenet or cdi. I think you're being particularly unfair blaming me for this whole saga. I didn't start it, I didn't keep it alive, and if you weren't blaming it on me, I wouldn't be making the last post on the thread, either... :o) Mmm...scotch or Valium...both, maybe? -- Ciao, The Obnoxious One "Ogni uomo mi guarda come se fossi una testa di cazzo"
