If you want source "I am a string, " + addon "too" to look like this: "I am a string, too", use this: LET source = source CLIPPED, addon If you want "I am a string, too ", use this: LET source = source CLIPPED, " ", addon --EEM > -----Original Message----- > From: informix-list-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:informix-list- > bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of monkeys paw > Sent: Wednesday, October 15, 2008 4:01 PM > To: informix-list@iiug.org > Subject: string append > > I am appending two strings thusly, > > define > source char(20), > addon char(20) > > let source = source, addon > > Do i need to do a trim on the source string during the let statement? > _______________________________________________ > Informix-list mailing list > Informix-list@iiug.org > http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list
