Re: Year 2000 is NOT a leap year

Why do people continue to post their personal beliefs even when they are blatantly false and our eminent Jonathan Leffler have allready set the record straight with the following formula: >> if (year % 400 == 0) >> leap_year = true; >> else if (year % 100 == 0) >> leap_year = false; >> else if (year % 4 == 0) >> leap_year = true; >> else >> leap_year = false; This was posted in this very same thread. You may not know it, but 2000 modulo 400 actually gives zero making year 2000 into a leap year. The issue is too important to post beliefs about it. raj@innocent.com (Rajendra Singh) wrote: :"Bill Bertovich" <billb@connect3.com> wrote: : :>If the year can be divided evenly by 4, then the year is a leap year ... : :I believe that is incorrect. A year is a leap year if it is divisible :by 4 and NOT divisible by 100! Hence the year 2000 is NOT a leap :year! Using ! after you have stated you "believe" this is very strange. :-- :Mr. Rajendra Singh, B. Sc. (raj@innocent.com) :"What is understood need not be discussed." - Loren Adams Very false statement. That which is "understood" must be checked from time to time to validate it's truthfullness and to see it in light of new insights.
