Dear all, Thanks for the response to date. Unfortunately, the problem has not yet been fully resolved, however, some progress has been made: * Network performance is OK * High priority is set * the problem, in detail, appears to be the following: 1. to draw a graphics char (such as a border), send GS, send the character, send GE. 2. the entire bordered screen is sent to the terminal before anything like text is displayed. So, when a border is drawn, +- 5 characters are sent to the terminal for each character displayed... and what's even worse is that it seems to do it for the blank interior of the form (before text is displayed) as well! Hence my request for the 8-bit graphics characters which define the border. I'm hoping that this will mean that less characters are needed and that the borders will speed up accordingly. The blank window interior should also speed up accordingly... My thanks to everyone who has sent a termcap so far, however, my problem is a little more specific: I need those 8-bit character border characters. So if anyone out there knows what they are...
